My name is Danni, and Dainty has been my nickname since childhood — a name given to me by my nan. If you've noticed the purple throughout the site and wondered why it doesn't quite match the natural theme, it was my mum's favourite colour, and it felt only right to keep it.
We're a small, passionate business based in Maesteg, South Wales, run by myself and my partner Ben. We've been passionate reptile keepers for many years. It was through this that I first discovered isopods — brought in initially as clean-up crew for our enclosures, but I quickly fell in love with them in their own right.
Dainty's Pods began on Amazon in October 2025, and if you've found your way here from there — welcome, it's lovely to have you! 👋 As demand grew, so did our colonies, and we expanded into botanicals and bioactive supplies, officially launching this website on 1st July this year.
While our focus is isopods and bioactive enclosures, much of what we stock is also suitable for reptiles, invertebrates, pet birds, aquariums, and small pets — all carefully chosen to help create enriching, natural habitats that encourage instinctive behaviours like foraging.
