Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly will my order be dispatched?
All orders are processed and dispatched within 24 hours of being placed, with the exception of weekends and bank holidays.
What days do you ship?
We ship Monday to Friday. Orders placed over the weekend will be dispatched on the next working day.
What if there is a delay in my delivery?
All isopods are dispatched with both hydration and nutrition sources to ensure they remain safe during transit. In the unlikely event of a delay, please be assured that your isopods should arrive in good condition. However, if your order is 48 hours or more overdue, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will arrange a rerun or replacement.
Can I specify a safe place for my delivery?
Safe place instructions can be added at the checkout stage. Where possible, we use postal packaging to ensure your order fits through your letterbox. However, if your order is too large for letterbox delivery, please ensure your safe place is secure and sheltered. Please note that once a safe place has been specified, Dainty's Pods cannot be held responsible for any orders that are left unattended.
How will my isopods be packaged?
Isopods are packed in petri dishes with moss for hydration and leaf litter for nutrition. They are then placed into bubble mailers for extra protection, and all orders are sent in letterbox-friendly packaging so no one needs to be home to receive them.
Can I change or cancel my order after it has been placed?
If you need to make a change or cancel your order, please contact me as soon as possible with your order details. I will do my best to accommodate your request, however please note that once an order has been dispatched it may not be possible to make amendments.
What does "+2" or "+5" mean on the quantity?
When you see "+2" or "+5" alongside a listed quantity, this indicates that additional isopods will be included in your order as a precautionary measure. In the rare event of any losses during transit, these extras ensure that you still receive your full intended quantity upon arrival.
Can I track my order?
Yes! Once your order has been dispatched you will receive a confirmation email containing your tracking information. You can use this to monitor the progress of your delivery.
Do you restock sold out species?
Yes! Sold out species are restocked regularly. If a species you're interested in is out of stock, feel free to contact me and I can let you know when it's expected back.
Can I request a species that isn't listed?
If you are looking for a species that isn't currently listed in the shop, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I will do my best to source them for you or, if unable to, recommend a trusted breeder who may be able to help.
How do I know which species is right for me?
Each species listing on the shop includes information about their care requirements and temperament to help you choose. If you're still unsure, feel free to get in touch and I'll be happy to point you in the right direction.
My isopods arrived but are not moving — are they dead?
It is not uncommon for isopods to become inactive during transit due to the stress of being moved and temperature changes. I would advise placing them in their enclosure with appropriate humidity and temperature and allowing them time to acclimatise. In most cases, they will begin moving within a few hours. If after 24 hours they remain inactive, please contact me with photos and I will investigate further.
What happens if my isopods arrive dead or injured?
Please contact me with a photo of both the isopods and the packaging. This enables me to troubleshoot and, when required, make adjustments. You will be offered a full or partial refund or replacement.
How do I know if my isopods are healthy?
Healthy isopods are active and moving around their enclosure. Warning signs of unhealthy isopods include a high mortality rate, remaining curled up in balls, and discolouration.
What should I do if I receive the wrong species?
We sincerely apologise if you have received the wrong species. Please contact me as soon as possible with your order details and a photo of the isopods received and I will arrange for the correct species to be sent out to you.
