• Vital calcium source — Calcium is absolutely essential for isopods. They rely on it to build and rebuild their exoskeleton every time they moult. Without adequate calcium, isopods can struggle to moult successfully, leading to stuck moults and fatalities. Crushed oyster shells are one of the richest natural sources of calcium carbonate available.
• Supports healthy moulting — Isopods actively seek out calcium-rich materials before and after moulting. Providing crushed oyster shells ensures they always have access to the calcium they need at this critical stage.
